No humor allowed

A governor uses a common expression in a common situation, and the audience laughs. Fortuantely, there's a Milanovich around to tell everyone that Native Americans should be offended. Can a solution be reached? Of course! Apologies all around!!!

Cuz when I think Cahuilla Indian, I think Milanovich.

For all you Imus fans...

Good Lord, when Don gets an idea into his head it's in there for good. His latest obsession is this thing about the level of mercury in everyday life. Fellow Washingtonian Gregg Easterbrook cuts through Imus' hysteria with a couple excellent pieces on environmental hysteria in this week's New Republic Online. Also, the folks at CommonsBlog point out the cost-benefit ratio of further mercury reduction is, well, pretty bad.

Adjectives?

So, serious question. Do I use too many wonderful adjectives? I have been accused of this nefarious language authorship trait today. But I like pretty, wholesome, meaningful adjectives. No, really, adjectives are calming, soothing, communicative, illuminating, inspiring, and altogether too much fun.

I dunno, a world without glowing adjectives is a sad, dreary, boring, colorless, bland, shredded-wheat kind of place.
